If you get frustrated with an exercise is it because you dislike it or because you can’t quite do it?
I see this often in the gym, you have a new exercise in class or on your program, you try it first and it feels weird or you can’t quite work out if you are doing it right. It feels off or boring so you think what is the point or maybe it is not for you.
The majority of my clients have gone through this process, I support them with engaging in the correct form and if they still don’t like it we explore it.
When it becomes frustrating for you…
Is it because sometimes it gets hard for the body and therefore your brain is telling you to stop?
Or is it because you feel like you should be able to do it and you can’t work out why you can’t?
Maybe you are carrying an injury and you can’t complete a movement or lift the same as you have before.
Are you telling yourself this is too hard or no way you can do that?
Understanding your mindset around this is huge, it can be the game changer of
“I can’t do that” to “I can’t do it yet.”
This is where mental fitness is also enhanced around physical fitness. We don’t ignore this at V Health & Fitness we look into it and although we sometimes take a step back it means you can go further with your physical and mental health in the long run.
Work on your weaknesses in your body AND mind…that is when you get stronger.
But I also acknowledge sometimes you just don’t like exercise - I know not everyone likes burpees therefore they don’t make a regular appearance at the studio so don’t worry! I think they can get you ridiculously fit and that’s why I like them…but I won't be training you how I train.
I will train you for you and your health and goals.
