Are you coming out of the holidays feeling sluggish and like you have overindulged?
Many talk about getting on a diet, giving up things or detoxing at this time of the year.
I’m reminding you that you don’t have to do any of those things or overly restrict your food to improve your health or lose weight this January.
I think that the reason most feel like that is because they have been out of their routine rather than overeating. You simply eat different things that may not be healthy and at different times of the day. So if you have had chocolate for breakfast or a Baileys coffee when you woke up over the holidays so what, it has been the holidays and life is too short to beat yourself up or not have some time to relax!
The most important thing you can do now is get back into a routine. Routine is where I see most people fall when it comes to eating balanced, nutritious diets.
The other important thing is to ignore all the hype about detoxing or fast diets.
They. Don’t. Work.
Your body has a very intelligent way of detoxing therefore drink lots of water, eat your veggies, limit your sugar and get back to balanced meals to let your body do its thing. You can feel better in a few days by prioritising the right things.
Don’t fall for the expensive detoxes and diets, save your money and focus on the basics that we often forget.
If you don’t know where to start check out my basic eating document in my online shop that will show why the basics are important, why you shouldn’t be restricting and how to maintain a healthy, balanced sustainable diet to enhance your lifestyle and reach your goals. The advice I live by and give to my clients in a PT session can be found in digestible format on paper…your welcome!
