Wirral Yoga - Classical Hatha
Hatha Yoga

She has spent many months travelling and living in India and she has now returned to the Wirral and is ready to share the knowledge of Yoga from her time studying and teaching at the ashram.

“I teach classical Hatha Yoga, following the Sivananda system; a holistic approach to health, empowering you to manage symptoms of PTSD, anxiety and depression. This system aids in releasing tension and trauma from the body. We focus on the 5 points of yoga; proper exercise, proper breathing, proper relaxation, proper diet and positive thinking and meditation.

Develop an embodied understanding of the breath, as we focus on deep abdominal breathing, pranayama techniques and kapalabhati, helping to balance your nervous system and improve your overall health.

We begin all sessions with surya namaskar; gentle flowing movements synchronised with the breath. The practice consists of 12 different spinal positions, promoting flexibility and strength, and preparing you for the 12 basic asanas. These are more than yoga pose’s; they open up energy channels, chakras and psychic centres of the body. They work not only on the frame, but also on the internal organs, glands and nervous system, helping us to maintain radiant health. With regular practice, the poses become an exercise in conscious concentration and meditation, and lead to a calmer mind and reduction in stress.”
