V Health & Fitness 5 pillars of health to reach your goals.
V Health & Fitness is not just a gym - it is a space where you can come to enhance your health and reach your goals.

But the fitness is just a part of the puzzle.

The logo that you see when you walk in is more than a label or identity, it is the ethos of V Health & Fitness and it demonstrates the values and practices required for optimal health and reaching your goals via the five pillars of health & fitness.

Movement - Nutrition - Sleep - Mindset - Resilience

Illustrated in a wheel, we explain that as soon as one of these pillars is dropped it is harder to maintain the others and therefore harder to maintain the healthiest version of yourself.

We look at deep health on a holistic level, the session that you spend working on your fitness is important but what about the other 23 hours in the day? Are you maintaining the pillars of health to be the best version of yourself for you, your family and your job?

Keeping the wheel rolling and if one drops off assess why and get back on it as soon as possible.

Movement - We emphasise the importance of physical activity in maintaining a healthy body & mind. This is through structured exercise, functional movement, mobility and overall encouragement of an active lifestyle.

Nutrition - We highlight the critical role of diet in fuelling the body and supporting optimal health. We educate on balanced eating, mindful nutrition practices and simple achievable habits.

Sleep - We recognise and promote the foundational role of quality sleep in overall health. We encourage strategies for improving sleep hygiene, understanding circadian rhythms, and the impact of rest on recovery and performance.

Mindset - Focussing on mental and emotional health, cultivating a positive environment, managing stress, fostering self-awareness and building mental clarity and focus.

Resilience - We develop the ability to adapt and thrive amidst challenges by providing stress management techniques, building emotional strength, fostering adaptability, and sustaining health in the face of life’s demands.

Overall, V Health & Fitness aims to guide you toward a balanced and sustainable lifestyle by addressing the five pillars of health. We show you how it is important to acknowledge the interconnectedness of physical, mental and emotional well-being when you are working towards your goals.

Examples:

  • When you don’t exercise enough you are less likely to eat balanced, and you will not sleep as well because you haven’t worked your body. Your mindset will change to either being more stressed, and anxious or you will become reluctant to get back in the gym because it has been a while since you were uncomfortable.

  • When you don’t eat enough, miss meals or choose a diet of high-sugar and processed foods you don’t have the energy to move, or your body encourages you to move less to conserve energy. Your mindset is affected because it is hard to focus, you feel tired and you are more susceptible to stressful situations.

  • When you don’t get enough sleep you are too tired to exercise, you reach for high stimulatory foods and caffeine or energy drinks, you are on a constant rollercoaster of sugar crashes and struggle with energy through the day but still can’t manage to get into a sleep routine.

  • When your mindset is negative you don’t want to go to the gym or exercise due to time or discomfort. You avoid meals because you aren’t able to exercise but are worried about putting weight on, you find it hard to sleep because you are snacking late into the night or you need a glass of wine to relax but it is not allowing you to rest through the night, you find it hard to wake up. Subsequently, you feel stress and emotions get on top of you more than normal.

  • When you don’t manage your stress and are constantly putting everything else in front of your health you become less resilient or able to deal with situations that wouldn’t normally stress you out, listening to your body, filling your cup and prioritising your health will improve your physical, mental and emotional resilience.

Life does sometimes get in the way, so of course you are going to have to drop one occasionally, such as a late night over the holidays, but being able to jump back on that wheel means you will recover quickly and get back to your healthy habits.
